On Wednesday, December 7, 2011 at 7:13am, comments were broadcast on 92.9 KICK-FM that were in direct conflict with our standards of conduct.
A program co-host delivered a monologue that negatively stereotyped all members of the Muslim community and the people of the entire Middle East geographic region.
The comment was presented live, without prior consent. 92.9 KICK-FM apologizes for this serious and regrettable infraction of our policies.
The volunteer responsible for making the comments has been removed from the on-air lineup on KICK-FM.
We would like to acknowledge Mr. John Hotchkiss who alerted the CRTC about this offensive content, who in turn passed his comments on to us.

Today the CRTC extended the license term of CKIC-FM thru the end of December 2012. This extension also applies to a great number of commercial, community and campus stations from coast-to-coast.
The extended term of our current license is to allow the CRTC to complete the approval process of the standard 7 year license renewal for 92.9 KICK-FM.
Thank you so much for your continued support, and we look forward to serving you in the future!

Gt. DANE is the ongoing fictionographical pop-noir murder mystery of auteur D. Moore. Formerly the frontman of All of Your Friends, Moore showcases his own strong musical identity on his debut Mourning Yer Host, Gt. Dane. Recorded and mixed by Moore himself and mastered by Noah Mintz (who counts Hayden and Sarah Harmer among his mastering credits), Mourning Your Host, Gt. Dane is a truly devastating meld of sacred and profane, care and caprice, an airy pop effort worth lending an ear to. To ring in his new e.p. Gt. DANE is aided by SitDownTracy, who will be playing selections from their upcoming full length, as well as Boats member Ashley Roch, who will be performing a solo set. See it all at Lo Pub (330 Kennedy St.) on Thursday, June 23 at 9:00p.m.
CKIC-FM (aka 92.9 KICK-FM) has applied for a renewal of our broadcast license with the CRTC. To examine the documents of renewal, click here.
